3D models are grouped by anatomical region: Head, Torso, Extremities, Spine, and Other(Animal).
Every file has been reconstructed from CT, MR scan data sets and/or microscopic image data. All files are available as high resolution STL rapid prototyping files. File size determines whether file can be purchased electronically or shipped on CD.
The head contains a large number of anatomical structures in a relatively small region. The major bony structure, the skull, encloses the brain. The neck is generally described as the region between the base of the skull and the bony thoracic cage. This region contains the uppermost seven vertebrae located between the base of the skull and the thoracic vertebrae.
The chest is the region of the body between the neck and the abdomen. The upper boundary of the chest is formed by first thoracic vertebra, the first ribs and the upper margin of the manubrium. The chest extends to the level of the thoracic outlet, marked by the diaphragm. The abdominal region can be found between the chest and the pelvis. The abdomen is generally considered to be bounded at the upper end by the diaphragm. The pelvic region is the irregularly-shaped region located between the hip bones, the sacrum and the coccyx.
The human spine is a column of 33 vertebrae, the sacrum, intervertebral discs, and the coccyx. Vertebra are separated by spinal discs. The spine houses the spinal cord in its spinal canal.
This classification contains 3D reconstructions that are cellular or derived from animal scans.
